About
I qualified as a Forensic Psychologist in 2016 following my completion of a Masters degree in Forensic Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to completing my MSc in Forensic Psychology. Aileen completed her degree at Napier University in Edinburgh and a conversion Phd Psychology diploma with the Open University.
In my professional journey as a Registered and Chartered Forensic Psychologist, I have held various positions. I started my career in Scottish Prison Service working in HMP Perth and latterly HMP Edinburgh prior to expanding my forensic experience and taking a role with the Probation Board Northern Ireland ( PBNI). I covered a large part of the province working with forensic clients in the community who were under Probation supervision or on Licence. I worked for PBNI as a Senior Forensic Psychologist for 14 years. I am currently Head of Forensic Psychology for the Isle of Man Prison (IOM) and Probation Service, where I manage a small team of experts who provide forensic services to individuals who are in custody and in the community.
I am also a supervisor for the British Psychology Service(BPS) and provide supervision to Forensic Psychologists in Training (FPiT) on the IOM and the UK. I have set up an online reflective group for FPiT allowing them to learn and grow in a safe place. In line with this, I was an assessor for the BPS for individuals undertaking the qualification in Forensic Psychology . I have recently given up my role as a Lecturer in Forensic Psychology and Counselling Psychology at the Open University.
I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches (CFT, ACT and EMDR) and can offer trauma therapy to forensic and non-forensic clients. I am able to offer clinical supervision to others undertaking forensic work on a one to one or in a group.
I established my private practice in 2022 and am able to offer face to face appointments as well as online appointments. I can accommodate daytime, evening and weekend sessions.
Supervision with Aileen was an impactful part of my journey in Clinical Psychology. I felt consistently safe, inspired, and appropriately challenged, which allowed me to grow both personally and clinically. The space she created was brave and reflective and offered the support I needed to develop confidence in working with complexity and risk.

‘‘Aileen’s support and supervision throughout my Chartership journey has been integral to reaching the point of achieving status as a Registered and Chartered Forensic Psychologist. No query was ever too much hassle, and she consistently provided support, guidance, and expertise. Even when she moved from PBNI to pastures new, she continued to supervise me and her dedication to working towards my goal of qualification never wavered.”
